Celebrating Chinese New Year

庆祝农历新年

 

Chinese New Year is an important traditional Chinese holiday celebrated at the turn of the Chinese calendar. It is a time where we visit our relatives and grandparents, during these seasons It is also traditional for every family to thoroughly cleanse the house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortunes and to make way for good incoming good luck.

 

 


 

As you can see on the left picture,  this is picture about the loh hei (yu sang). Loh hei is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor.




 

 

 

The picture on the right is a steamboat. The steamboat is what most Chinese people will eat during reunion dinner. Lastly, the last picture, Chinatown. Chinatown is a place where it is festive in Chinese New Year because lots of people are there to buy Chinese New Year decorations.
